By choosing to see a counsellor you are taking much needed time for yourself. Your session will be held in a private room where you can feel comfortable to talk to me about whatever is on your mind. I'll be led by you, helping you to explore your thoughts and make positive changes.
Initially, we’ll have an informal chat on the phone. If we feel we can move forward in a way that is positive for you, we’ll arrange a convenient 50-minute face to face session, at the beginning of which we’ll complete a brief assessment and contract form.
We will then embark on your counselling journey, working together to find the best ways to support you with any presenting issues. This will usually be via weekly sessions, with a review after six weeks to assess your thoughts and feelings at this time.
Depending on how we feel you are progressing, you may have sessions over a short time period, or you may wish to continue long-term.
Details regarding coming to the end of treatment will be in the contract discussed at the first session.
